Privacy Policy — Mega Stopwatch
Mega Stopwatch collects nothing about you. It has no analytics, no advertising, no accounts, and no third-party services. It does not request internet access, and it contains no code that could send your information anywhere.
Information the app collects
None. The app has no server, no account system, and no way to identify you or your device. Nothing you do in the app is recorded or reported to the developer or to anyone else.
The microphone
Mega Stopwatch has an optional Voice stop feature that stops the running stopwatch when it hears you, so you do not have to touch the phone. It is off by default. If you switch it on, Android asks for microphone permission, and you can refuse or revoke it at any time in Android's settings.
- The microphone is opened only while the stopwatch is actually counting, and on the Voice stop setup screen where recording is the point. It is never open while the app is paused, idle, counting down before a start, or in the background.
- All listening and matching happens on your device, in the app's own process. No audio is streamed, uploaded, or sent anywhere.
- Audio is analysed as it arrives and then discarded. The app never writes a recording to storage — there is no audio file to play back, share, or recover.
- If you use the Say your word method, the app keeps a mathematical summary of the three enrolment captures (MFCC feature frames) so it can recognise the word later. This is not audio and cannot be turned back into audio or speech. You can erase it at any time with Clear on the Voice stop screen.
Information stored on your device
The app saves your settings — theme, delay durations, read-out choices, voice stop options — and, if you enrolled one, the voice feature data described above. All of it lives in the app's private storage on your phone, which other apps cannot read. Uninstalling Mega Stopwatch removes it.
Android backup
Mega Stopwatch uses Android's standard app backup. If you have backup switched on in your Android settings, the operating system may copy the app's settings to your own Google account, so they return when you set up a new phone. This is handled entirely by Android, not by the app; the developer has no access to it, and it is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can turn it off in Android's System → Backup settings.
Your enrolled voice data is deliberately excluded from backup and from phone-to-phone transfer. It never leaves your device by any route. The trade-off is that if you reinstall the app or move to a new phone, you will need to record your stop word again.
Spoken read-outs
If you switch on the countdown or elapsed-time read-outs, the app asks Android's text-to-speech engine to say them. The only thing handed over is the phrase to be spoken — a number or a duration such as "one minute fifteen seconds". Nothing about you is included. That engine is a separate app chosen in your Android settings (often Google's) and is covered by its own privacy policy, not this one.
Permissions
RECORD_AUDIO— only for Voice stop, as described above. Requested when you turn the feature on, never before.VIBRATE— haptic feedback for the countdown read-out and for the hold-to-reset confirmation.
The app deliberately does not declare the INTERNET permission.
Android therefore prevents it from making any network connection at all, whatever it might
try.
Analytics, advertising and third parties
There are none. Mega Stopwatch ships no analytics or crash-reporting SDK, shows no ads, contains no tracking or advertising identifiers, and does not sell or share information with anyone — because it has none to share.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages. Since it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.
Google Play
Google Play collects its own statistics about installs, uninstalls, crashes and ratings for every app on the store. That happens through Google Play itself rather than through anything in Mega Stopwatch, and the developer sees only anonymous, aggregated figures. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes what it does with your information, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the effective date above will change.
